Aleksander Kościów (1974) studied at the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, composition under Prof. M. Borkowski and viola under Prof. B. Sroczyński. He currently teaches composition in the same university having given lectures also abroad (USA, Germany and South Korea).
Kościów has worked with numerous music ensembles and orchestras in Poland as well as abroad: Chór Polskiego Radia (Polish Radio Choir), Schola Cantorum Gedanensis, ProModern Vocal Sextet, Hybrid Ensemble, London Sinfonietta, Orkest de Ereprijs. His collaboration has involved also many string quartets such as Camerata String Quartet, Wilanów String Quartet, DaFo String Quartet, Royal String Quartet, recently also the NeoQuartet and Kronos Quartet. Kościów's essays and texts about music have been published in several periodicals, and he is a 2005 Junior Grant Fulbright scholar, a member of Phonographic Academy, Polish Composers' Union and Polish Society of Authors and Composers. In 2016, Aleksander Kościów took on the role of Vice-Rector of the F. Chopin University of Music.
